In order to become a member, Trutopia asks a few things of you:
You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material.
Enter your FULL, REAL NAME (ex. Lamont Cranston). This will be your Trutopia User Name. This should be the same as your Displayed Name, and having the same name in both slots prevents our personal messaging system from getting confused, poor thing. We do not allow the use of screen names, handles or aliases on Trutopia. Note that if you attempt to use an alias your membership application will be refused outright.
After you register and login to Trutopia, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present accurate information. In your profile there is a box for a secret question and one for its answer. This is important to fill in, as it is used for password recovery. Of course, it’s far better to have a password that you’re not likely to forget.
We also require your BIRTHDATE, GENDER, and LOCATION which specifically should be your city/town and State/Province or Territory.

Once your profile is complete, you will be given an office for your personal use. Note that unless you specifically request it, this office is open to all members.
The first post you need to make is YOUR NAME – BIO. This should be a brief biography of your education, accomplishments, goals, and hobbies. Remember that Trutopia is first and foremost a community of your peers, and we really do want to know you. If your material has been produced or published, please be sure to mention that. Professional members are accorded certain rank advances immediately.
Please add another photograph to your profile, either the same as in your profile, or another one as you wish. Check out other people’s profiles if you’re at a loss as to what to post.
Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer. Please make sure your cookies are enabled.
While Trutopia is a writer’s resource, it also contains numerous workshops in almost all areas of writing, so make sure you participate. You’ll get much more out of your membership if you do.
